100 Stories on Medium

A look back at the past year and a half

This week I unceremoniously and unbeknownst to me published my 100th story on Medium.

If you would have told me in December 2020 when I first began writing on Medium that I would still be here trucking along a year and a half later I would have thought you were crazy.

Even more so, if you would have told me that I would go on to release 100 articles out into the world I would be completely flabbergasted.

What started as a maybe not-so pure-of-heart quest (admittedly hoping for a get-rich-quick scheme or something adjacent) grew into a fun hobby where I get to write some of my innermost thoughts (mostly ranting and raving about books, but also other things as well), be creative, and connect with others.

Through all it however never did I think that I would be able to make a small, but not insignificant — (think enough to cover a utility bill, and sometimes both heat and hydro depending on the month) amount of earnings from the platform.

But, more than monetary benefits, something that I didn’t expect. Medium has given me inner peace.

Writing has been a great escape from my day job (in healthcare) in some of my most trying years. It has been a great way to reconnect with my creativity and…
